"Bach's music is today's substance... substance of creation, birth, rupture... drawn by layers of linear elements… of simple objects, of singular sounds, nourished by human imagination... New atoms to form new molecules... new connections for new sounds... for new layers... Construction from destruction... Catalysts for creation, these sounds contain a remarkable potential that transcends time and space. Object and substance." Filipe Faria
The new project by Sete Lágrimas — L3 Leipzig Lisboa Luanda (from Bach) — is born from these constructions seen from a triangle of three geographies... From the city of Leipzig, where Bach was appointed as Thomaskantor in 1723, and granted the title of composer to the court of August III of Poland in 1736. Leipzig, where he eventually died. From the city of Lisbon, where Sete Lágrimas was born 250 years later. From the city of Luanda and its diaspora, from where blows a fervent contemporary scene linked to body movement. This is the L3 triangle. From it emerges a new creation. Object and substance.
