PT Heinrich Schütz (1585-1672) compôs, entre 1636 e 1639, duas séries de "pequenos concertos espirituais" (Kleine geistliche Konzerte) num período de dor e sofrimento como foi a Guerra dos Trinta Anos. As pequenas composições foram escritas sobre variadas fontes textuais, na tradução alemã ou em latim, do Antigo Testamento às palavras de Santo Agostinho. Em 2007 decidimos mergulhar num projecto que há muito construíamos e que, com a cumplicidade de Ivan Moody tornámos realidade: um olhar contemporâneo sobre a obra do maior compositor alemão do século XVII partindo da mesma selecção de textos que quatro séculos antes inspiraram a sua composição. Um reflexo de processos criativos mas não de linguagens. Um encontro entre o novo e o antigo, um espelho de hoje, desta nova e "pequena" grande música de ontem. Convidada: Ana Quintans (soprano)

EN Between 1636 and 1639, Heirich Schütz (1585-1672) wrote two series of "small spiritual concerts" (Kleine geistliche Konzerte) during the time of pain and suffering that was the Thirty Years' War. These short compositions set words from various text sources, in Latin or in German translation, from the Old Testament to St. Augustine. In 2007, we decided to plunge into a project we had been planning for a long time and which, in collaboration with Ivan Moody, we brought to fruition: a contemporary look at the greatest German composer of the 17th century, based on the same selection of texts that four centuries before had inspired Schütz's music. A reflexion of creative processes but not of languages. A meeting between the new and the old, a mirror of today, of this "small" great music of yesterday. Guest: Ana Quintans (soprano)
